The prize: Sleep

SVC-Sleep-01.jpg

Here at Salisbury Vineyard we have been contending for sleep. Why? Because the bible says that God gives sleep to those He loves (Psalm 127). If you aren't sleeping that doesn't mean God doesn't love you. Rather it is an invitation for you to appeal to God for more sleep, better sleep, peaceful and refreshing sleep.

So every Sunday we have offered to pray for anyone who hasn't been sleeping well (for whatever reason). Two months ago we had a team of students visit us. Among them was a young man (21 years old) who had been tormented by nightmares every night since he was 14 years old. He stayed with a family in the church and had no nightmares while in their house. Even better than that, I heard yesterday that he hasn't had another one since. God is so good!

We are encouraged that the prize we are contending for will be one that we can give away to those who need it. Watching God do amazing things like this and getting to play a part in it gives me joy.
